About

Think of us as a small design studio inside a big advertising agency.

To us, design is the art of being intentional and strategic. We understand people, which is why we serve our brands’ objectives in compelling, intuitive and contextual ways.

Our inspiration is collaboration. Maybe it’s our Midwest spirit, but as much as we love to create, we love to share: share ideas, share the things we see and like, share the sounds we hear along the way and share the credit for converting possibilities into realities.

But we’re not just here to impress ourselves. Everything we make is focused on solving a business problem, first and foremost. We can’t help it if the outcome is also easy on the eyes.

Approach

We solve problems creatively, visually and with rigor. We love big brands, little brands, old ones and new ones. (And sometimes blue ones.) Here the key methods that help bring our ideas to life.

Hunting and Gathering

Research gives our creative backbone. Stakeholder interviews, user stories and brand audits are valuable tools to gather rich insights.

Competitive analysis gives us context and creates space to formulate a new standard within an industry.

Historical creative excavation lets us know where you’ve been so we can build on what works and avoid heavily treaded ground.

Formulating and Distilling +-

Formulating and Distilling

We use mood boards to define visual parameters. The closer we get to the general intended space the easier and faster we can arrive at a logical solution.

Idea statements set the tone and vision for a creative thread.

Experimentation and prototyping help us explore the validity and strength of our ideas and course correct as needed.

Executing and Extending +-

Executing and Extending

Refinement is the process of distilling and reducing our prototypes to their most deliberate and potent form.

We gut check in the form brand extension within contextual media.

We build and define design parameters around a singular creative vision with systematic extensions.
